I am sharing a FaceBook post by my Brother Tanner Spears. His words emphasize an environment of honesty and reality. I hope in some way this message speaks to whomever may read this post.
Tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Know the difference between not telling somebody something because they "didn't ask" and lying by omission.
IF one lies in any way or form it is still much better to come clean than get caught. Time is of essence.
Real people are those that are not compulsive liars. Liars may have long lasting connections, but those bonds grow weak and love fades away.
When someone lies about random little things that do not even make sense to lie about, be extra cautious. They lie due to insecurity, to cover up something worse, or even they believe they did something suboptimal. Lying shows that one does not value the relationship [enough].
One truth does not mean you get one lie. Being lied to does not mean you get to lie back. Do not take someone else's freedom of choice away by lying.
Lying is selfish, destructive, and self-defeating.
May you succeed with Truth in future endeavors.
[= — feeling hopeful.

Run
I run through the fields
Chasing something I couldn't find.
The closer I got, the father it went.
It felt like years, but I didn't mind.
--Run, Run, Run...(I need to) Run, Run, Run--
No matter how hard I tried
I just couldn't realize
What this thing was. It ate at me,
Made me doubt that this was alright.
--Run, Run, Run...(I have to) Run, Run, Run--
--Everything I want, Everything I need--
-I didn't have the speed-
One day it disappeared
Never to be caught.
Then I realized
How much pain that this had brought.
--Run, Run, Run, Run...(I just can't) Run, Run, Run, Run--

Those Nights
These were the nights (That I would remember)
These were the people (Never Forgotten)
These were the fights (Always Forgiven)
This was the life (Continually Changing)
The people we were.
The shit we did.
How we were never sure.
What was it s(he) said?
Secrets came out at night,
Feelings that just weren't right.
Leaning on, the stupid songs
That seemed to give us light.
We were all the victims .
All those stupid lies.
I don't want to know, I don't wanna know.
Who even tries?

Our Candle
Roses wither quickly, but candles burn awhile.
The candle we possess resides in our hearts. Our candles are not meant forever, but only for the time they were given.
We control the light;
Where does it go? Who does it show?
We can even turn off the light and be in the dark.
Our candle still exists waiting patiently to be re-ignited.
Unlike a rose a candle has a capability of producing light in a dark place.
It's not meant for beauty, but every candle is its own beautiful creation of light.
A man and woman each have their own candle, but together they create a new one.
They earnestly work, creating what to them is beautiful.
Others laugh at their creation, calling it hideous.
They tell the two to stop molding a mutual candle, but to rely on their own.
And the two get to this point.
Here we are, growing together, creating our Candle.
We are to produce better light together than we can apart.
We continue working at our candle and do not abandon because of something...
Something in our hearts just won't let us apart.
I want to continue to grow and learn to produce light with you, in a strong Way.
I Love You
This is a poem my husband, Jonathan, wrote to me when we were in high school. It holds a lot of memories, but at the same time it describes our present and future.
